Study Hall Purpose
This study hall will provide an opportunity for each student to prepare, organize, plan, and complete assignments for their classes. Academic progress will be reviewed weekly.
Study Hall Expectations
- Respect others
- Be on time-in your assigned seat when the bell rings and remain seated.
- Be on task-organize, plan, and complete assignments
- No distracting others-talking only with permission
- You are required to bring a book or reading material-we will review your academic progress on an as needed basis.
- No food or beverages in this study hall. Bottled water will be allowed with a screw top (no squirt topped bottles)
- Students not making academic progress based on their grades and assignment completion will face additional restrictions in this study hall.
- Do not use or touch any shop equipment or projects.
- Come prepared to study!

- 5 students will be allowed 20-minute media center or computer lab passes unless they are on restriction based on behavior or academic progress.
- Any student needing a pass for longer than 20 minutes, must bring a pre-signed pass from a teacher that has the assignment listed that the student will be working on.
- Students must return to study hall the final five minutes of the hour or they will not be allowed to leave the classroom.
- Two passes per quarter
- Phone usage must be in the designated school area.
- You cannot use the pass to go to your locker or use your phone
Mr. Schlichting has reviewed the purpose, expectations, and consequences with me. I have shared this with my parent(s). I understand that once I have turned this form in signed, I will have the privilege of having passes out of study hall if I am restriction free.

Classroom Rules
1. Safety First
-Make sure you know how to safely operate a machine or tool before you start.
2. Listen and Follow Directions
-directions, rules, and procedures are all developed for your benefit, so follow them and pay attention during instruction.
3. Exit/Entry
-Be in the door and in you seat when the bell rings with appropriate materials. Wait quietly for further instructions.
-Everyone must clean up their mess. No one leaves until all tools are put away. No lining up at the door. I dismiss you from your seats, not the bell.
4. Be responsible and respectful.
-If you take out a tool, put it back. If you make a mess, clean it up. -No profane language towards anyone, especially homosexual references, and swearing.
5. Stay on task the entire period.
If YOU Choose to Break a Rule
First time: Verbal warning in setting - possible detention
Second time: Removal from setting, verbal warning – possible detention
Third time: Sent to office
Fourth time: Sent to BLC
SEVERE DISRUPTION (physically dangerous behavior, illegal acts, or insubordinate behavior): STUDENT SENT IMMEDIATELY TO OFFICE

Procedures and Routines
Beginning of Class
1. Have proper materials
2. Enter quietly, no talking
3. Sit down in assigned seat for attendance and further instruction.
DO NOT ASK “WHAT ARE WE DOING TODAY?” I WILL TELL YOU AS A CLASS!
End of Class:
1. Stop working when I give you the signal
2. Put your project away properly, along with tools, scraps, etc.
3. Do assigned clean up job
4. Sit in assigned seat and wait for dismissal from Mr. Schlichting
Tardiness- Defined as not being in your assigned seat when the bell rings. Not in the hallway.
1. Verbal warning and questioning - and marked tardy
2. Verbal warning and questioning - marked tardy
3. Detention - marked tardy - detention is sent home
4+ Detention - Marked tardy, possible parent alert sent home or parent call.
Hall Pass - You must ASK PERMISSION to use the hall pass. Most likely the answer is NO! The hall pass is a privilege to use and will only be allowed 2 times per quarter.
Late Assignments- If you turn in your assignment late, you will only get 1/2 credit for the assignment. If you are absent on the due date of an assignment, write “Absent” on the top.
