Dear Parent or Guardian:
It is strongly encouraged that students bring in their own engines to work on during class time.
Engine criteria are very simple
A. It must be a single cylinder 4 stroke engine. (example- push-mower)
- It is highly recommended to bring in or purchase a repair manual or owners manual for your project that the student can use as a reference and keep at the end of the term if the school doesn’t have one available.
B. If a student is unable to bring in any type of engine to work on, they must willingly work on a project assigned to them by the instructor, or do book work until their engine is ready.
C. No 2 stroke engines, boxes of parts, or antique engines. - Save that for later in the course.
Please drain all gas and oil from engines and clean the exterior as much as possible prior to bringing them to school. Engines can be left by the fenced area at the loading dock in the back of the school. Please avoid blocking the exit/path.
I am looking forward to having your son/daughter in Small Engines this term. I ask that all students help contribute a shop fee of $10.00 to help cover the cost of maintenance and parts. Checks made out to Pine City High School is the preferred method of payment. I will purchase most or all of the parts needed to recondition your engine within reason excluding pistons, rings, and valves. Thank you for your support.
