DERBY CLASS
Pine City High School along with other neighboring schools such as Princeton, Centennial, and North Branch, have been partners with Pine Technical College over the last three years. PTC was awarded a grant by the US Department of Labor to run a mobile manufacturing lab. PCHS has hosted mobile lab sessions in Mr. Schlichting's Welding and Small Engines courses taught in conjunction with an advanced manufacturing instructor from PTC. This included the benefit of learning on advanced machine tools, plastics technology, and robotics. Now that the grant funds have ran out, the participating schools are now using the equipment on a rotating basis through PTC. Pictured is EmiLee Riebe at PCHS starting her CNC program that she wrote to create a pocket mill, two pilot holes, and a thru hole on a 2 in piece of aluminum stock. After the program is entered, all she has to do is push the infamous green start button!
